Gutter cleaning in Green, Ohio
Green's gutters are mostly newer and sound. The trees over them have grown up. A hand cleanout, every downspout flushed, and a price by text within the hour.
Gutter cleaning in Green, Ohio costs $150 to $300 with Guttrz. A single-story home with light debris is about $150, and a two-story colonial or a wooded lake-area lot runs up to $300. Every run is cleaned by hand, debris is bagged and hauled away, every downspout is flushed until it runs clear, and before-and-after photos are sent the same day. Guttrz is based in North Canton, one city south of Green on I-77.
Why do newer Green homes with good gutters still need cleaning?
Gutter cleaning in Green, Ohio is rarely about worn-out gutters. Most of the city's houses went up in the last few decades, so the metal is sound and the hangers hold. What changed is the yard. The maples and oaks planted when the subdivision was built are now taller than the gutter line, and they drop into it every fall.
Green was a township until 1991. It became a village that year and a city in 1992, and a lot of its housing followed. A street built in the late 1990s now has trees close to 30 years old. That is the age when a yard tree stops being a sapling and starts reaching over a two-story roof.
What comes off a newer roof
Leaves are only part of it. Asphalt shingles lose loose granules, most of all in their first years, and the grit settles in the bottom of the gutter. It is heavy, so rain does not carry it out. It sits in the low spots and at the outlet, and wet leaves stick to it. A hose from the ground will not move it. It has to be scooped out by hand.

Which parts of Green fill gutters the fastest?
Green covers about 33 square miles, and the lots are not alike. A wooded lot near the lakes can need two or three cleanings a year. An open lot near the airport may need one. Where your house sits tells us more than its age does.
Lake-area and wooded lots on the west side
The west side of the city runs out to Nimisila Reservoir, the southern lake in Portage Lakes State Park, where only electric boat motors are allowed. Houses near the water sit under tall, mixed tree cover. Gutters there take leaves, seeds and twigs from several directions, and the shade keeps all of it wet. Wet debris packs down and does not blow out. If your lot is like this, plan on a late spring cleaning and a late fall one.
Lots near the Singer Lake preserve
Singer Lake Bog is a 344-acre nature preserve in Green owned by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Land like that never gets cleared, so homes close to preserved woods and wetland keep a tree line for good. If the back of your lot faces woods, the back gutter fills first. Tell us that when you send the address and we will plan around it.
Open lots near Akron-Canton Airport
Akron-Canton Airport sits in the south end of Green, at about 1,228 feet above sea level. The ground around it is high and open, with fewer trees to break the wind. Open lots get a different kind of mess. Leaves blow in from a neighbor's yard and pile in the corners and valleys that face the wind, while the rest of the run stays nearly clean. One packed corner is enough to block a downspout.
Maturing subdivisions in the middle of the city
Between those two extremes are the subdivisions through the middle of Green. The pattern here is one or two trees doing most of the damage, usually a maple near a front corner. The run under that tree fills while the far side of the house stays clear.
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Green, Ohio?
Guttrz charges $150 to $300 for gutter cleaning in Green, Ohio. The price depends on stories, gutter length and how much debris is up there. Many Green homes are two-story colonials, and those sit toward the top of the range. We do not publish a price above $300. A house that is unusually large or tall gets its own quote.
| Green house type | Debris | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Single-story ranch, open lot | Light | About $150 |
| Two-story colonial in a subdivision, a few yard trees | Moderate | Toward $300 |
| Two-story home on a wooded or lake-area lot | Heavy | Up to $300 |
The firm number comes by text or call after you send your address, within the hour during business hours. Those are Monday to Friday 8 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 2. The main gutter cleaning page explains what moves a price up or down.
What did Guttrz find on cleanings just south of Green this fall?
Guttrz has cleaned gutters in Canton, Massillon and North Canton in September and October 2026, a short drive south of Green. The same thing kept showing up. The elbow at the top of the downspout was packed solid. With the outlet blocked, the gutter filled like a bathtub and spilled over the front edge, even in light rain.
Clearing the elbow and flushing the downspout fixed it. On a newer house the first guess is often undersized gutters. More often it is a plug you cannot see from the ground. Our post on why gutters overflow lists the other causes and how to tell them apart.
What does a cleaning visit to a two-story Green colonial include?
Every run is cleaned by hand from a ladder, and every downspout is flushed until it runs clear. On a two-story house the gutter edge is about 20 feet up, so ladder setup matters as much as the cleaning.
- The ladder goes up with a standoff, so it rests on the wall or roof and never on the gutter.
- Each run is cleaned out by hand, grit included.
- Debris is bagged and hauled away, not left in your beds.
- Every downspout is flushed until water runs clear at the bottom.
- Corners, hangers and pitch are checked while we are up there.
- Before-and-after photos are sent to you the same day.

Many Green subdivisions have fenced back yards, decks and walkout basements. A walkout lot makes the back of a two-story house closer to three stories. Tell us about the grade, the gate and any dog when you text. More cleaning photos are on the before and after page.
How does the trip up I-77 from North Canton work?
Guttrz is based at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton. Green is the next city north on I-77. The airport exit at Lauby Road is exit 113, and the Massillon Road exit, State Route 241, is exit 118. Most Green addresses are a short drive from the office, so scheduling is simple. Owner Christian Schaffner does the on-site work check.
When is the right time to clean gutters in Green?
For most Green homes, clean once after the leaves are down, usually in November. Wooded and lake-area lots do better with a second visit in late spring, after the maple seeds fall. Open lots near the airport can often wait for one late fall visit, as long as you watch the windward corners. See how often to clean gutters in Ohio and the signs a cleaning is due.
If you are tired of the ladder, guards are an option, not a requirement. They cost $17 per foot on single-story runs and $19 per foot on two-story runs, with a cleaning included. The Green gutter guard page covers when a newer home can wait, and the cost page has the full math. If the check turns up a loose hanger or a leaking corner, see gutter repair. A badly damaged run can be replaced with seamless gutters.

Questions
My Green house is only 15 or 20 years old. Why are the gutters overflowing?
On a newer house the gutters are usually fine and the outlet is blocked. Yard trees planted with the subdivision are now above the roofline, and shingle grit collects at the downspout opening. Once the elbow at the top of the downspout plugs, the gutter fills and spills over the front. A hand cleanout and a downspout flush normally fix it.
How much is gutter cleaning for a two-story colonial in Green?
Most two-story homes land toward the top of the $150 to $300 range, because the ladder work is slower and the runs are longer. Heavy debris pushes it to $300. Guttrz does not publish a price above $300, and unusual houses are quoted after you send the address.
Do homes near Nimisila Reservoir need gutter cleaning more often?
Usually yes. Lots near the reservoir and the Portage Lakes edge tend to have tall, mixed tree cover and a lot of shade, so debris stays wet and packs down. Two cleanings a year is a sensible plan there: late spring after the seeds drop and late fall after the leaves. A lot with trees right over the roof may need a third.
I live on an open lot near Akron-Canton Airport with almost no trees. Do I still need a cleaning?
Probably less often, but do not skip it. Wind carries leaves from other yards into the corners and roof valleys that face it, and shingle grit builds up with or without trees. One check a year in late fall is usually enough. If a corner drips or overflows in rain, that corner is likely packed.
Does Guttrz charge extra to drive to Green?
No. Guttrz is based at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton, and Green is the next city north on I-77. The price is $150 to $300 based on stories, gutter length and debris, the same as in Stark County.
Can you get to the back gutters on a Green home with a walkout basement or fenced yard?
Yes, in most cases. A walkout lot makes the back roof edge higher than the front, so mention it when you text your address. Also mention a locked gate, a deck or a pool under the gutter line. The ladder is set with a standoff and never rests on the gutter.
