Gutter cleaning in Hartville, Ohio often means more than one roof. A village lot may have a house and a detached garage. A place out in Lake Township may add a pole barn and a shed or two. Guttrz cleans gutters by hand for $150 to $300 on a house, flushes every downspout, and texts you before-and-after photos the same day. Outbuildings are quoted together with the house once we have seen them. The office is at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton, a short drive southwest of the village. This page covers what is different out here. For the full service details, see the main gutter cleaning page.
Why is a Hartville property a different cleaning job?
Hartville is small. The village covers 2.7 square miles in the northeast corner of Lake Township and had 3,329 residents in the 2020 census. The old downtown sits where Maple Street and Prospect Avenue cross. West of it on Edison Street, Hartville Hardware puts 305,000 square feet under a single roof, next door to the Hartville MarketPlace and its 12-acre outdoor flea market.
That setting shapes the gutters. Detached single-family houses make up about 78 percent of the homes in the 44632 ZIP code, and the 1960s were its busiest decade for building. So there are a lot of long, low ranches, plus farmhouses that are far older. Many of them share the yard with other buildings. On a subdivision lot we clean one roofline. Here we often walk between three.
Can the garage, pole barn and sheds be cleaned on the same visit?
Yes, and it makes sense to do them together while the ladder is already out.
Here is how the price works. The $150 to $300 range is for a house: about $150 for a single-story home with light debris, up to $300 for a two-story home or heavy buildup. A detached garage, barn or other outbuilding is not priced from a list. We quote it together with the house after we see the buildings, and you get one number for the whole property before any work starts. We do not publish a price for outbuildings because they vary too much.
| Building | What we usually need to know | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| House | One or two stories, rough gutter length, how long since the last cleaning | $150 to $300 |
| Detached garage | Gutters on one side or both, where the downspouts empty | Quoted with the house after we see it |
| Pole barn | Eave height, gutter length, whether it has gutters at all | Quoted with the house after we see it |
| Shed or lean-to | Whether the gutter is worth keeping | Quoted with the house after we see it |
Each building gets the same work as the house: a ladder on a standoff that never rests on the gutter, a hand cleanout of each run, debris hauled off in bags, a flush of every downspout until it runs clear, and a check of corners, hangers and pitch.

Why do long straight gutters overflow at the far end?
A ranch or a barn has few corners. The gutter runs straight for 40, 50 or 60 feet, and builders often hung it with one downspout. Everything that lands anywhere in that gutter rides to the same outlet.
Long runs also show their age in the pitch. A gutter needs a slight, steady fall toward the downspout. Over 50 feet, one or two loose hangers are enough to leave a low spot that holds water and grit all year. We sight down every long run after it is clean and tell you if it holds water. If it does, the fix is a gutter repair, not another cleaning. Our post on why gutters overflow walks through the other causes.
Where does the debris come from when no tree stands near the house?
From the fence rows. Hartville sits at about 1,160 feet of elevation with open cropland on most sides. Wind crosses a bare field with nothing to slow it down. The trees along field edges and property lines drop their leaves and seeds, and the wind carries them until they hit something. Often that something is your roof.
This is why a house with a bare yard can still have a full gutter. It is also why the fill is lopsided. Winds here blow most often from the west and southwest, so the gutters on that side of a building tend to load up first. Spring brings seeds and fluff. Fall brings leaves, and sometimes chaff from the field next door. If you are not sure how often your place needs it, see how often to clean gutters in Ohio.
Do metal roofs change how the gutters fill and get cleaned?
They do. Many barns and garages have metal roofs, and some houses do too. A shingle roof is rough, so leaves sit on it for a while. A metal panel is slick. Whatever lands on it slides into the gutter with the next rain. The roof stays clean and the gutter fills sooner.
Water moves faster too. In a hard rain it can shoot off a metal roof with enough speed to skip over a gutter that is partly full or tipped forward. So a gutter under a metal roof has less room for error. We clean these from the ladder, not from the roof, because wet metal panels are not safe to walk on. We also look at the hangers closely, since sliding snow is hard on them.
What did Guttrz find on fall 2026 cleanings a short drive away?
What we can share comes from our own cleanings in Canton, Massillon and North Canton in September and October 2026. On those jobs the elbow at the top of the downspout was often packed solid. The gutter filled like a bathtub and spilled over the front edge, even in light rain. Clearing the elbow and flushing the downspout fixed it.
That finding matters more on a long Hartville run with a single downspout. One plugged elbow there takes out the whole side of the building.

If you are cleaning more than once a year because of wind-blown debris, guards may be worth a look. They are optional. They cost $17 per foot on a single story and $19 per foot on two stories, and a cleaning is included with the install. The Hartville gutter guard page has the house plus garage math, and the pricing page has the rest. If a gutter is rusted through, new seamless gutters may be the better spend. Questions
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Hartville, Ohio?
A house costs $150 to $300 with Guttrz. A single-story home with light debris is about $150. A two-story home or one with heavy buildup runs up to $300. Detached garages, barns and other outbuildings are quoted together with the house after we see them, and you get one number before work starts.
What does it cost to add a pole barn or detached garage to a gutter cleaning?
There is no set price, and we will not guess at one. Outbuildings differ too much in height, gutter length and how long they have been ignored. We quote them together with the house after we see them. Having them done on the same visit as the house is the sensible way to do it.
My Hartville house has no trees close by. Why are the gutters full?
Wind. Leaves and seeds from fence-row trees blow across open fields and stop when they hit a roof. The side of the house facing west or southwest usually fills first. Roof grit and field chaff add to it. A yard with no trees can still need a cleaning once a year.
Do you clean gutters under a metal roof?
Yes. We work from a ladder with a standoff and do not walk on metal panels. Metal sheds leaves and water fast, so the gutter below fills sooner and has less room to spare. We also check the hangers, because sliding snow can bend them.
My barn downspouts just empty onto the ground. Do you still flush them?
Yes. Every downspout on every building we clean is flushed from the top until it runs clear at the bottom. We tell you if water is landing against a foundation or post. We do not do underground drain work.
How fast can I get a gutter cleaning price for a Hartville address?
Text or call (330) 818-5584 with your address and the number of buildings. You get a price for the house within the hour during business hours, Monday to Friday 8 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 2. Outbuildings are added to that quote after we see them.
