Gutter cleaning in Fairlawn, Ohio

Fairlawn's ranches and split-levels keep the ladder short and the price low. Every run cleaned by hand, every downspout flushed, photos the same day.

Gutter cleaning in Fairlawn, Ohio costs $150 to $300 with Guttrz. Because so many Fairlawn homes are 1950s to 1970s single-story ranches, many cleanings land near $150; a two-story colonial under mature trees runs up to $300. Every run is cleaned by hand, debris is bagged and hauled away, every downspout is flushed until it runs clear, and before-and-after photos are sent the same day. Guttrz is based in North Canton, about 26 miles down I-77.

Gutter cleaning in Fairlawn, Ohio is usually a one-ladder-height job. The city is small, about 4.6 square miles, and most of its streets were laid out when a new house meant a ranch or a split-level. Guttrz cleans every run by hand for $150 to $300, flushes each downspout until it runs clear, and texts you before-and-after photos the same day. The office is in North Canton, a straight run up I-77. This page covers what is specific to Fairlawn. The main gutter cleaning page has the full service details.

Why is gutter cleaning in Fairlawn mostly single-story work?

Fairlawn became a village in 1960 and a city after the 1970 census, and its housing followed the same curve. Much of the city was built out in the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Property records put the typical Fairlawn house at about the mid-1960s. That era built ranches, split-levels and a smaller number of two-story colonials, on lots of roughly a third of an acre with a shade tree or two out front.

The 2020 census counted 3,533 housing units for 7,710 people, with a median age of 48 and about 27 percent of residents 65 or older. That means a lot of single-story homes owned by people who would rather not climb a ladder in November. The normal Fairlawn cleaning is one story, 10 to 12 feet to the gutter edge, a full load of leaves, and a price toward the low end of the range.

Why does the corner under a gable end fill first?

Most mid-century ranches have a gable roof. The gutters run along the two long eaves and stop at each gable end with an end cap. Many also have a second, front-facing gable over the garage or the living room. Where that gable meets the main eave, the roof forms a valley that funnels water, leaves and shingle grit into one short stretch of gutter.

That corner is where Fairlawn gutters give up. The end cap stops the leaves, the valley keeps feeding them, and the pile grows until water runs around it and over the front edge. You see a drip line in the mulch below the gable while the rest of the run looks fine from the driveway.

Clearing it is slow hand work. The pile is wet and matted, and a hose only pushes it toward the outlet. We scoop it out, bag it, then check the end cap seam, a common leak point on 60-year-old gutters. An open seam is a gutter repair, not a cleaning problem, and we tell you so.

What does gutter cleaning cost on a Fairlawn ranch, split-level or colonial?

Guttrz charges $150 to $300 for gutter cleaning in Fairlawn, Ohio. Stories, gutter length and the amount of debris set the price. Because so many Fairlawn homes are single-story, many land near $150. A split-level sits in the middle. A two-story colonial with heavy debris is the top of the range. We do not publish a price above $300, and an unusual house gets its own quote.

Who cleans the gutters on a Fairlawn condominium?

Fairlawn has more condominiums than most towns its size. The Enclave of Rosemont, at 3800 Rosemont Boulevard, is one example, and the former Rosemont Country Club land is being rebuilt with townhomes. On a condo, read your declaration before you call anyone. Most associations treat gutters as building exterior and clean them on their own schedule. Some leave them to the owner, and detached ranch-style units are often the owner's job entirely.

If the gutters are yours, a single-story unit is one of the quickest cleanings we do. If they belong to the association, we can quote the whole building for the board. Tell us which it is when you text.

What did Guttrz find on fall 2026 cleanings in Stark County?

In September and October 2026 we cleaned in Canton, Massillon and North Canton, and the North Canton houses sat under mature oaks, the same kind of trees that line older Fairlawn streets. The gutters held leaves, twigs and acorns, and the acorns in particular rolled to the corners and the outlets and locked everything else in place.

The repeat finding was the elbow at the top of the downspout. It was often packed solid. With the outlet blocked, the gutter filled like a bathtub and spilled over the front edge, even in light rain. Clearing the elbow and flushing the downspout fixed it every time. The gutters themselves were fine. If your Fairlawn gutters overflow under a tree, start by suspecting the outlet, not the gutter size. Our post on why gutters overflow walks through the other causes.

Where do the leaves go after a Fairlawn gutter cleaning?

With us, in the truck. Debris is bagged and hauled away, not left in your beds or at the curb. That matters because Fairlawn's bagged-leaf pickup only runs on Mondays in November, with 35-gallon bags tied and at the curb before 7 a.m. Wet gutter muck does not belong in those bags anyway, so we take it whatever the date.

The pickup schedule is a useful calendar, though. If the city is collecting leaves, your gutters are full. Most Fairlawn homes do best with one cleaning in mid to late November and a second in late spring if maples hang over the roof. The post on how often to clean gutters in Ohio has the reasoning, and signs you need a cleaning shows what to look for from the ground.

How does Guttrz get from North Canton to Fairlawn?

Guttrz is based at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton. The drive is I-77 north from the Portage Street exit to exit 137, Route 18, then east on West Market Street. That is about 26 interstate miles. West Market is Fairlawn's spine, and Summit Mall at 3265 West Market Street has stood there since 1965, the same decade most of the nearby streets were built.

Owner Christian Schaffner does the on-site work check. Fairlawn Heights, across the city line, is part of Akron, and we serve it from the same route. Houses on that hillside are larger and taller than a Fairlawn ranch, so mention it when you text.

Is a cleaning all a Fairlawn ranch needs?

Usually, yes. A sound single-story gutter cleaned once or twice a year will last for decades. Two things change that. A sagging or leaking run, which a cleaning will not fix: see repair or replace, and a failed run can become seamless gutters. Or heavy tree cover where the ladder comes out three times a year. Guards are an option there, not a requirement, at $17 per foot single-story and $19 two-story with the cleaning included. The Fairlawn gutter guard page and the cost page have the math.

Questions

How much does gutter cleaning cost for a single-story ranch in Fairlawn?

Most single-story Fairlawn ranches with a normal fall load come in near $150, the low end of the $150 to $300 range. Long runs, a front gable that feeds one corner, or a house under several big trees push the price up. Text your address and you get the firm number within the hour during business hours.

My gutters only overflow at one corner under the front gable. Do I need the whole house cleaned?

That corner is almost always the symptom, not the whole story. The valley above it feeds leaves to a dead-end spot, but the downspout outlet on the same run is often packed too. A cleaning covers every run and every downspout, so the price does not change much for one bad corner versus a full house.

I live in a condo on Rosemont Boulevard. Can Guttrz clean my gutters?

Check your association's declaration first. Many Fairlawn condo associations handle gutters as part of the building exterior. If they are the owner's responsibility, yes, and a single-story unit is a quick job. If the association owns them, Guttrz can quote the whole building for the board.

Does Fairlawn's leaf pickup take the debris from my gutters?

You do not need it to. Guttrz bags and hauls away everything that comes out of the gutters. The city's free bagged-leaf pickup runs on Mondays in November, with 35-gallon bags tied and at the curb before 7 a.m., and wet gutter debris is heavier and dirtier than what those bags are meant for.

Is Fairlawn Heights covered by the Fairlawn price?

Yes, the same $150 to $300 range applies. Fairlawn Heights is part of Akron, not the City of Fairlawn, but it is the same drive for us. Homes there are often larger and taller than a Fairlawn ranch, so expect the price to sit toward the upper half of the range rather than near $150.

How far is Guttrz from Fairlawn, and is there a travel charge?

No travel charge. Guttrz is based at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton. The route is I-77 north to the Route 18 exit, then West Market Street, about 26 interstate miles. The price is set by stories, gutter length and debris, the same as in Stark County.
