Gutter cleaning in Hudson, Ohio is mostly tall-house work: large two-story colonials on wooded lots, and older homes around the Green with steep roofs and a gutter line above the second floor windows. Guttrz cleans those gutters by hand for $150 to $300, flushes every downspout, hauls the debris away, and texts you before-and-after photos the same day. Hudson is among the farthest north of the towns we serve, about 35 to 40 minutes from our North Canton office. Full service details are on the main gutter cleaning page.
Why does gutter cleaning in Hudson, Ohio land near the top of the range?
Because most Hudson houses are two stories, and many are big. Our price runs $150 to $300. About $150 covers a single-story home with light debris. A two-story home, or heavy debris, runs up to $300. The typical Hudson job is a two-story colonial under mature trees, so most prices here sit in the $250 to $300 end. We do not publish a price above $300. An unusually large or tall house gets its own quote after you send the address.
Height is the reason. On a two-story colonial the gutter edge is around 20 feet up, and near the Green it can be higher. Every foot of height means slower ladder moves and more of them.
| Hudson house | What drives the price | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Single-story home, few trees | Short ladder, light debris | About $150 |
| Two-story colonial, subdivision lot | 20-foot gutter line, moderate leaves | $250 to $300 |
| Two-story colonial, wooded or acreage lot | Tall ladder work, packed oak leaves and acorns | Up to $300 |
| Historic district house, steep roof or built-in gutters | Seen first | Quoted |
What ends up in Hudson gutters under old oaks and maples?
Hudson has kept its trees for a long time. David Hudson settled the town in 1799 and laid out the village in the New England pattern he knew from Goshen, Connecticut, with a Green at the center. In 1907 James Ellsworth, who later built the clock tower on the Green, had elm trees planted through town as part of his plan for a model village. The subdivisions that followed kept many of the oaks and maples already on the land. Those trees now stand above the roofs.
Oaks are the hard case. A maple drops seeds in spring and leaves in fall. An oak drops acorns and twigs all summer, then holds its leaves late. Acorns roll to the outlet and jam it. Under a big oak the back gutter can be full to the lip while the front looks clean from the driveway.

Lot size adds to it. Out toward Hines Hill Road, Barlow Road and Boston Mills Road, lots run from an acre and a half to several acres, often with woods on one side. A house like that catches debris from trees that are not even in the yard, and the shaded side stays wet.
When should Hudson homeowners schedule a fall gutter cleaning?
After the leaves are down, and the city gives you a calendar for that. Hudson's 2026 curbside leaf collection runs six weeks starting October 26, by quadrant. The northeast and southwest quadrants are collected the weeks of October 26, November 9 and November 23. The southeast and northwest quadrants are collected the weeks of November 2, November 16 and November 30. Leaves go on the tree lawn behind the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your week.
That schedule says the city expects leaves into December. So clean the gutters after your last pickup week, when the trees are bare. For most Hudson homes that means the first half of December. Wooded lots with maples do better with a second visit in late spring, after the seeds. See how often to clean gutters in Ohio.
How is an older house near the Green different from a colonial on a wooded lot?
The historic district
The Hudson Historic District covers about 70 acres around the Green, on the National Register since 1973 and enlarged most recently in 2022. Federal and Greek Revival houses make up most of it, with some Victorian homes mixed in. Western Reserve Academy has stood at the edge of it since 1826.
Houses from that era have steep roofs and tall walls. The pitch is often too steep to work from, and some have gutters built into the roof edge or half-round gutters on brackets. We clean from a ladder with a standoff that never rests on the gutter. If a house has built-in gutters, we tell you whether it is a cleaning job or a repair. We do not quote a historic house from the road.
Colonials from the 1970s to the 2000s
These are the bulk of Hudson housing: two-story colonials with hanging K-style gutters, a few inside corners, and often a garage wing with its own short run. Many have walkout basements, so the back gutter is closer to three stories up. Decks and beds sit under the gutter line, so tell us about the grade and anything under the gutters when you text.
What has Guttrz found on cleanings nearby this fall?
What we can share comes from our own cleanings in Canton, Massillon and North Canton in September and October 2026. The North Canton jobs were under mature oaks, the same cover that stands over much of Hudson. Leaves, twigs and acorns packed the corners and outlets. The elbow at the top of the downspout was often packed solid, so the gutter filled like a bathtub and spilled over the front edge, even in light rain. Clearing the elbow and flushing the downspout fixed it.
On a Hudson colonial that spill runs down the siding and onto the soil at the foundation. On a walkout lot, that is the wall of your finished basement. See clogged gutters and wet basements and why gutters overflow.

How far is Hudson from Guttrz, and does the drive change the price?
It does not. Guttrz is based at 1196 Doncaster St NW in North Canton. Hudson is about 30 miles north by I-77 and State Route 8, around 35 to 40 minutes. The price is still $150 to $300 based on stories, gutter length and debris, with no trip charge. We group Hudson visits, so flexibility on the date helps. How do you get a gutter cleaning price for a Hudson address?
- Text or call (330) 818-5584 with your address, or use the form on this page.
- Tell us how many stories, whether the lot is wooded, and if the house is in the historic district or has a walkout.
- You get a price by text or call within the hour during business hours, Monday to Friday 8 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 2.
- On the day, every run is cleaned by hand, every downspout is flushed until it runs clear, and the photos reach you before dinner.
If you are cleaning twice a year under the oaks, guards are an option, not a requirement. They cost $17 per foot on a single story and $19 per foot on two stories, cleaning included. The Hudson gutter guard page has the math for a large two-story, and the pricing page has the rest. If a run is rusted through or pulling off the fascia, new seamless gutters may be the better spend.
Questions
How much does gutter cleaning cost for a two-story colonial in Hudson, Ohio?
Usually $250 to $300 with Guttrz. The full range is $150 to $300, but Hudson's two-story colonials with a 20-foot gutter line and mature trees sit near the top of it. Heavy oak leaves and acorns push it to $300. We do not publish a price above $300. A very large or unusual house is quoted after you send the address.
When is the best time to clean gutters in Hudson?
After the city's last leaf collection week for your quadrant, which in 2026 is the week of November 23 or November 30. By then most leaves are down. The first half of December is a good target for most Hudson homes. Wooded lots with maples also benefit from a late spring cleaning after the seeds drop.
Do you clean gutters on houses in the Hudson Historic District?
Yes. Older homes around the Green have steep roofs and a high gutter line, and some have built-in or half-round gutters. We work from a ladder with a standoff that never rests on the gutter and do not walk a steep roof. Built-in gutters get a straight answer about whether it is a cleaning job or a repair. We quote these after seeing the house, not from the road.
My Hudson house sits under big oaks. Why does the back gutter fill when the front looks clean?
Oaks drop acorns and twigs all summer and hold their leaves late, so the gutter under the canopy fills while the open side stays clear. The shaded back of a wooded lot also stays wet, so the leaves pack down instead of blowing out. Acorns roll to the outlet and plug the downspout elbow. That is the run that overflows first.
Does Guttrz charge extra to drive to Hudson?
No. Hudson is about 30 miles and 35 to 40 minutes north of our North Canton office by I-77 and Route 8. The price is still $150 to $300 based on stories, gutter length and debris. We group Hudson visits together, so a little flexibility on the day helps with scheduling.
Can you reach the back gutters on a Hudson colonial with a walkout basement and a deck?
In most cases, yes. A walkout lot puts the back gutter close to three stories up, so mention the grade, the deck, any patio and the landscape beds when you text your address. The ladder is set with a standoff on solid footing. If a spot cannot be reached safely from a ladder, we tell you before work starts.
Will the city's leaf collection take the debris from my gutters?
No. Hudson's leaf program picks up leaves raked to the tree lawn on public streets during your scheduled weeks. Gutter debris is wet, gritty and mixed with acorns and shingle grit. We bag everything that comes out of the gutters and haul it away, so nothing is left at the curb or in your beds.
